How to get gateway address when subnetting? - Stack Overflow

Results of the subnet calculation provide the hexadecimal IP address, the wildcard mask, for use with ACL (Access Control Lists), subnet ID, broadcast address, the subnet address range for the resulting subnet network and a subnet bitmap. For classless supernetting, please use the CIDR Calculator. Azure reserves the first and last address in each subnet for protocol conformance. Three additional addresses are reserved for Azure service usage. As a result, defining a subnet with a /29 address range results in three usable IP addresses in the subnet. If you plan to connect a virtual network to a VPN gateway, you must create a gateway subnet. I am try to get ip,subnet, gateway, preferred and alternate dns for server machine and show in textbox in asp.net using vb. pls send some code samples to fetch server machine ip,subnet, gateway, preferred and alternate DNS and show in separate textboxes. The Subnet Mask isn't that important for what I'm trying to do but gateway and DNS entries are important. I just want to click one button and have it show me a nicely formatted network stack. It doesn't seem like this should be that hard but I'm not that familiar with vb.net yet.

Subnets, gateways, and IP ranges The gateway can be on any ip address in the range. Usually it is on the second ip address in the range, or the second ip address from the end of the range. The Subnet Address is always on the first ip address in the range, and the Broadcast Address is always on the last one in the range.
