The frustrating point here is that the V8 engine is updated all the time, and that it is mainly developed to be used inside Google's own Chrome browser. The guys at Google do not have good documentation online about how to use or install it, and it is also not advisable to rely on a precompiled V8 engine that is available in standard Linux
